[00:00]
Welcome to the Migraine Heroes Podcast, a podcast where we share real stories from real
[00:07]
people suffering and battling with migraine disease.
[00:12]
In this podcast, we seek to provide support, hope, holistic health, advocacy and inspiration
[00:19]
for those who suffer from migraine disease.
[00:24]
So in this podcast, I want to talk to you about food and how adding food to your diet
[00:30]
can help de-trigger, untrigger, prevent and abort migraines.
[00:37]
And before we go into that, I want to share with you a really special story that is quite
[00:43]
interesting is when I got started, people put me in touch with an investor.
[00:49]
He was a man, quite an older man who had invested in a lot of what is called unicorns. So companies
[00:56]
that are extremely successful and therefore had made a lot of money with it.
[01:02]
And he had for me three advice.
[01:04]
The first one was on food.
[01:06]
At the time, I had 56 foods in the database and his advice was, oh, 56 foods is very complicated and
[01:13]
it's going to add complexity to your business.
[01:16]
I suggest you make that 10 foods only and you create these beautiful boxes with beautiful
[01:22]
packaging so that people can have a placebo effect with their sort of migraine.
[01:29]
The second advice he had was you try too hard on difficult cases.
[01:33]
You should let them down and not serve them.
[01:36]
And the third advice he had was your online test is 30 questions.
[01:41]
No one answers 30 questions.
[01:43]
This is way too long.
[01:45]
Fast forward five years later, I decided at the time that person, even though they were
[01:50]
very smart, they were trying to make money. And most importantly, they were really not
[01:55]
understanding what a migraine was, what people were suffering about.
[01:59]
And while he was interested in making money, I was interested in making a difference.
[02:04]
I was interested and excited by solving the actual problem.
[02:07]
And I knew that 10 foods would never solve the problem.
[02:12]
Today I have 727 foods, functional foods and functional foods combination that we add
[02:19]
to people's diet in order to de-trigger, untrigger, abort and prevent their migraines.
[02:26]
And I'm glad I didn't go with someone like that because it would have compromised what
[02:30]
I was trying to do.
[02:31]
So let's talk about foods.
[02:33]
The foods that we work with, you can find them in Western supermarkets, Asian stores,
[02:39]
Amazon, online ordering.
[02:40]
You can have them in organic form or frozen form or dried form.
[02:45]
It doesn't matter that much.
[02:47]
We find that regardless of the quality of the ingredients, we can always get there.
[02:52]
Now, what we do, which is really unusual, is we add foods.
[02:56]
You see, while a lot of people will remove foods to remove their migraines, we actually
[03:02]
If you remove foods for a minute, and let's talk about elimination diet, you go on an
[03:07]
elimination diet and you say, I no longer drink, for example, or I no longer have cheese.
[03:13]
I no longer have chocolate.
[03:15]
I went gluten-free.
[03:16]
I went dairy-free.
[03:18]
I am on a keto diet.
[03:20]
I am vegan, although that's not very usual for someone who suffers from a migraine disease.
[03:26]
Let's make one more probable.
[03:27]
I am on a histamine and tyramine-free diet. People will remove food.
[03:32]
They will remove things that they have rightfully identified triggers their migraines because
[03:38]
it's easier to see a short-term trigger.
[03:42]
A short-term trigger is a food or substance that you will inject and will give you a migraine.
[03:47]
And so as they identify them, they remove them, which is a smart situation.
[03:53]
If I take an analogy, it's a little bit like you had an employer and your employer was
[03:57]
not able to complete all of the tasks in a single day because it didn't have the capabilities.
[04:02]
So the way you solve the problem and the acute problem is you say, I'm just going to give
[04:07]
And what basically you're saying is, dear liver system, I can hear that you have a lot
[04:13]
I can hear that you really struggle.
[04:14]
I am going to deload your amount of work.
[04:18]
And in many ways that makes sense.
[04:20]
However, what we do is the exact opposite.
[04:23]
What we do is trying to say, dear liver, I can see your struggle.
[04:26]
I can see you have a long to-do list and you struggle to get your to-do list done.
[04:31]
What I'm going to do is I'm going to give you more budget, more resources, more training
[04:36]
so that at the end of the day, your to-do list is completed.
[04:40]
And we're going to do that with all of the systems that require help inside the body.
[04:45]
And so the foods that we work on are going to be added to help those systems.
[04:51]
So at the base, you have your genetics and those we can't change, they're given.
[04:55]
But on top of your genetics, you have imbalances.
[04:58]
And these imbalances are what we're trying to correct by adding food.
[05:03]
With migraine disease, we only have each other to make a difference.
[05:07]
If you know of someone suffering from migraine attacks, share this podcast with them.
[05:13]
Now you might say, Diane, I have this impeccable diet.
[05:16]
Honestly, I live like a monk or like a nun.
[05:21]
I'm an instructor.
[05:24]
I'm a nutritionist myself.
[05:26]
I eat superbly well.
[05:27]
I always eat in season, organic.
[05:29]
I know how to feed myself.
[05:31]
And therefore, I don't see how this can help.
[05:33]
Well, what we're trying to find out is what else is coming with your migraines.
[05:38]
Do you have bloating?
[05:39]
Do you have a distention of the belly area?
[05:40]
Do you digest well?
[05:42]
On a Bristol chart, are your bowel movement a type four?
[05:46]
So when you poop, is it too dry?
[05:51]
Do you have IBS, irritable bowel syndrome?
[05:54]
Do you have a leaky gut?
[05:55]
Do you have trembling sensations?
[05:58]
Do you have skin rash?
[05:59]
Do you have recurrent urinary tract infections?
[06:03]
And we ask for all of these things because all of these things highlight imbalances that
[06:08]
are going on inside the body.
[06:11]
And we're adding foods to remove these problems.
[06:14]
Now, when we do that, the problems go away and they fade away.
[06:18]
Sometimes they can come back because of homeostasis, the body not wanting to let go and not wanting
[06:24]
But as we insist, the body ends up changing.
[06:27]
And so when we work with someone, the difficulty is that we're adding food at a certain frequency
[06:33]
and length of time that is different for every single person.
[06:37]
And so I have been doing this work for five years.
[06:39]
There's not two people that I've solved the migraines for in the same way.
[06:44]
It takes me now a year and a half to train a new health practitioner.
[06:49]
It means that while we have something incredibly special, we have also something absolutely
[06:54]
However, we have managed to now put all of that in artificial intelligence in order to
[07:01]
be able to help you guide on what foods will de-trigger, untrigger, prevent, and abort
[07:08]
And when you listen to a lot of the Migraine Heroes podcast, you will hear about a lot
[07:12]
of people commenting on, wow, I was starting to have a migraine attack.
[07:16]
I took this infusion.
[07:17]
I took it three, four, five times in a row.
[07:20]
And wow, the pain was gone.
[07:21]
Then the pain tried to come back later in the day.
[07:23]
I had one more and it was completely gone.
[07:26]
And the next day I felt nothing.
[07:29]
No post-traum, no migraine attack.
[07:31]
This is wonderful.
[07:32]
And you will hear these stories over and over again.
[07:35]
This is when we're really able to identify the root cause of the migraine that is at
[07:39]
hand and solve it with the food.
[07:42]
Now this is highly complicated.
[07:44]
This is why we have a very massive AI behind this.
[07:48]
And artificial intelligence can sometimes be scary.
[07:51]
At the end of the day, artificial intelligence is just a reflection of who was its creator.
[07:56]
And its creator is me and another two moms, or three moms, based in New Zealand, in France, in
[08:02]
Belgium, with collectively eight children. And just really happy to be able to make a
[08:07]
difference for the life that our children are going to have on this planet Earth.
[08:12]
And so it's beautiful.
[08:14]
It really helps like that.
[08:15]
We also have the Migraine Now button specifically that helps you find, identify the given food
[08:20]
that will help with a given migraine at hand happening in the moment.
[08:24]
Because while you might see and you might feel all of your migraines are the same, I
[08:28]
think you intuitively also know that your premenstruation migraine might be slightly
[08:33]
different in pain and intensity and severity than the migraine during your menstruation
[08:38]
and the migraine after your menstruation, that the migraine when the barometric pressure
[08:42]
changes and the migraine that are triggered before stress or after stress or during stress
[08:47]
were different to the migraine that you experience in the evening versus in the morning, the
[08:52]
ones that wake you up at night, etc.
[08:55]
And so what we try to do is use these foods in order to correct the underlying imbalances.
[09:01]
That's my story of how I got from 56 food in that database was told to go to 10 to make
[09:07]
it a very lush business, which I don't think would exist today, honestly, all the way to
[09:13]
727 food, which is currently what we need to help make things happen for you.
