really explained how? Today we're diving into the hidden link your doctors might have missed.
[00:15]
Migraine Heroes is a podcast for chronic migraine sufferers who've seen countless doctors with no
[00:21]
results. Learn how to reduce your migraine attacks without endless medications or constant sacrifices.
[00:29]
Hello, I'm Diane Ducarme. I've helped over 500 people break free from migraine even after
[00:36]
suffering for up to 60 years. My mission in life? To bring this relief to a million people
[00:42]
using a unique blend of eastern medicine and western science.
[00:49]
In this episode, you will discover how your body might be showing you hidden hormonal imbalances
[00:56]
and how migraines and endometriosis are secret messengers. The real reason why standard
[01:02]
treatments often fall short and what deeper healing could look like for you. Eastern medicine's secrets
[01:10]
that can help you start reversing the cycle and even if you've struggled for years.
[01:17]
So let's start real simple. What is endometriosis? It's when tissue that is supposed to stay inside
[01:24]
your uterus starts growing in places it shouldn't. Like on your ovaries, on your fallopian tubes,
[01:32]
on your bladder and sometimes even in your intestines and beyond. When your hormones
[01:39]
change each month, that tissue reacts. But since it has nowhere to go because it's in those locations,
[01:46]
it causes pain, swelling and all sorts of chaos inside your body. There's a few types of
[01:53]
endometriosis. There's some surface level type, little spots growing on the lining of your abdomen.
[02:00]
There's some cyst type called chocolate cysts where they show up inside your ovaries. When the growth
[02:07]
burrows deep in organs like your bladder or your bowel. And there's some rare cases where
[02:12]
endometriosis can start to enter your lungs or even your brain. Yep, that can happen too.
[02:18]
Now, here's the thing nobody talks about enough. Women with endometriosis are way more likely to
[02:27]
suffer from migraines. Studies show they're about 70% more likely to have migraines if you haven't
[02:34]
though. That's not just a coincidence. And if your endometriosis is deep or severe, your migraines
[02:41]
often hit harder too. Your body is trying to tell you something. Doctors have looked into the why
[02:50]
and here's what they're finding. Number one, hormones. Oestrogen is a major player. When your
[02:56]
oestrogen level rise and fall, your migraines flare. And guess what? Oestrogen also fuels
[03:03]
endometriosis growth. Inflammation. Both conditions create a lot of silent inflammation inside of your
[03:10]
body. Inflammation is what keeps your nervous system on high alert, making you more sensitive
[03:16]
to pain and triggers. And the third why that they found are genes. Yep, there is some evidence that
[03:24]
certain genes linked to hormones and inflammations show up in women with both issues. Now, even though
[03:32]
they're connected, one does not cause the other. They're more like two fires burning from the same
[03:39]
spark. Western medicine, honestly, treats them separately. Hormone therapies, birth control,
[03:46]
painkillers, surgery, all of these focus on putting out fires, not on solving the root problem.
[03:53]
And often, the treatments for one can actually make the other worse. If you've ever felt like
[04:00]
treatment left you stuck in a loop, you're not crazy. Now, let's flip the lens. In traditional
[04:08]
Chinese medicine, they see things differently. You don't treat a disease, you treat the person.
[04:15]
In fact, in many Eastern cultures, you only paid your doctor if you stayed healthy. If you got sick,
[04:23]
your doctor had failed you. Imagine if we lived like that today. So instead of waiting until
[04:29]
endometriosis or migraines are full blown, traditional Chinese medicine looks from tiny
[04:35]
signs much much earlier. Aika, one of our migraine heroes, is a perfect example. When she started a
[04:40]
food plan to heal her hormones, she texted me worried. This is weird, I'm getting a sticky green
[04:47]
vaginal discharge. Most doctors would panic. But in traditional Chinese medicine, that was a sign
[04:53]
her body was finally pushing out the stuck hidden dampness causing her pain. Within weeks, her
[05:00]
migraines and fertility started to improve naturally. In Eastern medicine, endometriosis and
[05:06]
migraines often share four deeper root issues. The first one is dampness inside the lower body.
[05:14]
When your digestion and energy are sluggish, sticky fluids build up, making perfect breathing
[05:20]
ground for pain and cysts. If you feel heavy, bloated, foggy-headed, this is a clue. The second
[05:28]
deeper root cause is cold invading your belly. If you have ever felt icy pain during your period
[05:34]
or noticed migraines triggered by cold foods or weather, your body's warmth system might be weak.
[05:40]
Cold blocks blood flow, causing stabbing pains and migraines. The third deep root cause is blood
[05:47]
stagnation. When the blood doesn't flow freely, it clots, builds up and hurts. In traditional Chinese
[05:54]
medicine, this explains both the painful periods and the one-sided throbbing pains and migraines
[06:00]
many women experience. And the fourth one is energy stagnation. Stress, anger, bottling emotions, it's
[06:09]
not just in your head. It literally locks up your body's natural flow. Qi stagnation squeezes your
[06:16]
liver, tightens your muscles and lights the fire of migraines and menstrual pain. The bottom line,
[06:23]
instead of fighting other symptoms, Eastern medicine says, let's clear the stuckness,
[06:28]
warm the body, move the blood and set your energy free. And remember, every small step you take
[06:36]
moves you closer to freedom. You are powerful, you are resilient and you're never alone. Keep rising,
